Leadership Team

Our leadership team brings decades of hands-on oil and gas experience, combining operational expertise, safety and quality leadership, and a commitment to delivering projects with excellence, integrity, and teamwork across all levels of our organization.

Joe Bachand serves as the Vice President of Operations at Excel Projects Group, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. In his role, Joe provides strategic and operational leadership across new pipeline construction, pipeline integrity, facilities development, and operations and maintenance projects.

Overseeing both the Edson and Grande Prairie operating areas, Joe is known for fostering a proactive safety culture grounded in risk awareness, personal accountability, and continuous improvement. His leadership approach emphasizes operational excellence and a commitment to delivering reliable, high‑quality project execution.

Before joining Excel Projects Group, Joe held senior leadership positions with several industry organizations, where he played a key role in expanding pipeline networks, elevating safety performance, and strengthening long‑term client relationships.

As Vice President, Joe champions Excel’s mission to provide a safe and productive workplace where accountability, integrity, and teamwork drive dependable operations every day—without exception.

Brittany has 14 years of industry experience, beginning as an apprentice welder and earning her journeyman and CWB Level 2 certifications before expanding into safety as an NCSO. Her combined field experience in Quality Control and Safety supports her leadership role at Excel. She enjoys camping, golfing, skiing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

With over 25 years of industry experience—from equipment operation to project supervision and management—Ben brings strong leadership and problem‑solving skills. He has supported projects ranging from small assignments to large operations with up to 150 personnel, with a focus on safety, budgets, and delivering successful outcomes. In his spare time, Ben enjoys boating with his kids, sledding, and riding in his Side‑By‑Side.

Tanner began his career in pipeline construction in Dawson Creek, gaining broad field experience across Northern Alberta and BC. He holds formal training in oil and gas production and gas plant operations, along with Red Seal certifications in both on‑road and off‑road trades. His career includes roles as laborer, foreman, purchaser, shop foreman, and fleet manager, leading to his current operations management position. Tanner emphasizes strong leadership, efficiency, and doing it right the first time. He likes to spend his free time with family, trail riding, and exploring new camping destinations.

David has nearly 30 years of oil and gas experience, beginning in downhole operations before moving into pipeline construction and trenchless engineering design with multiple consulting firms. Over the past several years, he has focused on pipeline and facility project execution across a wide range of projects. He holds two degrees from the University of Calgary, a Petroleum Engineering Certificate from SAIT, along with Construction Management and Environmental Management certificates. He has also completed numerous courses in project management, facilities, and pipeline integrity. Outside work, David enjoys hockey, golfing at Redwood Meadows, and volunteering in animal rescue, having rehabilitated nearly 50 animals over two decades.
